Welcome to my Bartmess family website. Thus far, I have included a page with news, important upcoming dates and notices of special family events; and a page with some photos.

Next, I have always had an interest in my ancestry and genealogy. Perhaps this comes in part from having an unusual surname. Over the years, I have collected quite a bit of family history information. I have included some of this information now and hope to add more in time. Both my parents were born in Wallowa County, Oregon. In the Bartmess family the five generations before my father lived all or part of their lives in Wallowa, or neighboring Union County. The old family photos at the top of many of the website pages are from there, and this is also the reason for the Wallowa County reference in the webpage heading.
